FAQs

Once you have all the session information and you are ready to secure your booking a retainer of $149 (session fee), will be emailed and a date chosen and then your session is confirmed.  The session fee doesn’t include any digital images or printed artwork.  All printed artwork and digital file collections are purchased at your Design Appointment.

Please allow 2-3 hours for newborn sessions and up to 1 hour for outdoor sessions.

Just yourselves! If you have a special heirloom item like a knitted blanket from grandma, you are more than welcome to bring that along to be incorporate in your newborn session.  For outdoor family sessions we don’t use any props but family dogs are welcome to come to the session as well.

It is very important that you get in contact in the first 2 days of having your baby to secure the best day for your newborn session.  Ideally, between 7-14 days old, the sweet spot is 10 days old.  After two weeks of age, a baby’s startle reflexes start to develop more and often older than 3 weeks babies are typically more sensitive to touch.  If you really love those sleepy poses, then under 2 weeks of age is perfect!

If possible, dress your baby in a zip or button up onesie with no singlet. This makes it easier to undress baby without too much disruption.  I encourage parents to have a photograph with their new baby. Even if you are not feeling fabulous it only has to be 1 photograph! In which case, keep it simple, plain white/black/grey/navy clothing, less is more when it comes to prints and patterns on shirts.

I recommend going with a dark, medium, light colour scheme. Having tones throughout your clothing creates contrast and layers.  Extremes of black & white can cause some slight issues during the photoshoot.  It is best to be co-ordinating as a family but not matching outfits.  A full “What to Wear” guide will be sent to you during the session planning.

Yes! Most definitely, having older sibling photographs with your baby is wonderful!  Firstly, older children will be photographed with your newborn, then whole family shots and the remainder of the session is just your newborn.

Unfortunately, not. To create the quality of photography the studio is where it all happens!

Yes, if your family has workday/school commitments your photoshoot can be scheduled on the weekend.  Session times are limited.

Weather can be unpredictable when booking a date and time weeks in advance.  If the weather is bad we will reschedule to another time.

Within a week or so of your photoshoot we will book another time to come to the studio for your viewing and design appointment.  It is important that everyone/partners involved in the decision-making process be present at the design appointment.  After your viewing, your chosen images will be professionally retouched and orders sent to the print lab.  This can take between 4-8 weeks to be ready.

The cheap printing services available to the public are of substandard quality.  In my experience many of the convenient printing services like Kmart, Ted’s Camera, Big W etc are substandard. The good news is, your digital files are sent to you via an online gallery which has a fantastic tool to order prints and artwork yourself directly from home!  The orders are sent directly to the professional lab that I use myself and shipped to you – no need to order and pick up from me!  The quality is stunning.

Firstly, the session fee is due before your session.  After choosing your photos at your design appointment payment is due at this time to start production on your final images.  Payment can be made in full by credit/debit card, EFT direct bank transfer, or a lay-by system (*terms and conditions apply).

If you happen to be sick the day of your session then we will do our best to reschedule your booking.  If you have changed your mind within 48 hours of the session your booking fee will be not be refunded, as I will not be able to fill my booking within 48 hours.  My time is valuable like yours, so please make sure the confirmed booking time is suitable.
